SDV skills standards have been established and a guidebook has been published

Background and Purpose

Based on the "Mobility DX Strategy" formulated in May last year, efforts to acquire and develop human resources are extremely important in order to strengthen global competitiveness in the areas of software defined vehicles (SDVs), mobility services such as autonomous driving, and data utilization.
In order to further strengthen these efforts, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan have collaborated to formulate the "SDV Skills Standard," which clarifies and systematizes career task levels and skill sets to make it more efficient to cultivate and secure software human resources, and have published a guidebook for the standard.

Overview

The "SDV Skills Standard" is an index tool for common interpretation that streamlines human resource development and acquisition, consisting of a technical map and career definitions for the software field necessary in the SDV era. In the software field technical map, the horizontal axis shows the classification of technology/skill usage (engineering common, software common, automotive common, function/service specific), and the vertical axis shows the classification of technology/skills (basic technology, elemental technology development/operation technology, management technology, human skills, business skills, laws/standards), and displays the corresponding technologies and skills in a matrix.
In addition, the career definition subdivides previous careers according to the skills required for each, and redefines 31 careers such as domain specialists and software engineers in the SDV development human resource classification such as managers, specialized engineers, in-car engineers, cloud engineers, UX (User eXperience)/SDV engineers, and support engineers.

Future direction

After the SDV Skills Standard is published, we will work to popularize and utilize it with the involvement of various companies, and will utilize it in the activities of the Mobility DX Platform.
First, we plan to link the learning content provided by training providers and others with the "SDV Skills Standard" and make it visible on this website. This will make it easier for users to select and study content that will effectively teach them the knowledge and skills required for the role they are aiming for.
In addition, we will continue to work on enhancing competitions and courses to acquire the "SDV Skills Standard," and in the future, we will strengthen our efforts to acquire and develop human resources, such as certifying the SDV Skills Standard.
